Pollution
Pollution is one of the most urgent problems caused by increased fossil fuels consumption. The burning of coal creates smogs and soot which can lead to poor air quality, directly resulting in poor health of leaving beings.

Less obvious pollution
Smogs are considered to be an immediate danger, whereas CO2 emissions are a long-term one that will affect future generations. The reason why they are so harmful is that they can not be properly controlled by policymakers. Emissions can add up to global warming, as well as trigger volatile weather.

Loss of biodiversity
Increased economic growth leads to the depletion of resources and loss of biodiversity. Although the extent of the harmfulness of this problem is unknown, the lack of resources may cause challenges for the generations to come.

Long-term waste
Extensive plastic usage is one of the examples of the long-term wastes and toxins created by economic growth. It certainly is not beneficial either for consumers themselves, and the environment.
